The Antarctic continent is a land mass covered with ice up to 4 km thick. The highest point is\u00a0approximately 4 km above sea level. There is little exposed rock and, although millions of years ago\u00a0there was heavy\u00a0vegetation, today\u00a0the only plants that grow are very small mosses<\/span><\/a> and lichens<\/span><\/a>. Antarctica is the highest, driest, windiest and\u00a0coldest continent in the world.<\/p>\n
